Questions parents ask
If your question isn't here, ask me on WhatsApp.
Lessons
What happens after I message?
I reply myself, the same day during working hours. If you'd like to talk first, we book a free 15-minute call. Otherwise we agree a time for a first lesson.
Is the first lesson guaranteed?
Yes. If the written note after the first lesson isn't useful to you, tell me and I'll refund the lesson in full.
Is there a free first step?
Yes. A free 15-minute call to talk about your child and whether I'm the right fit. No obligation.
Do I have to start with the audit?
No. You can start with a free 15-minute call or a single first lesson. The audit is for families who want a full written diagnosis first, for example before an entrance exam.
At home or online?
Either. I come to your home anywhere in Riyadh, or we meet online. The lessons and the updates are the same.
Which curricula and tests?
The British National Curriculum, Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary, and entrance and standardised tests such as GL, CAT4, ISEB and 11+.
What ages?
Roughly 6 to 14, primary and lower secondary. If your child is outside that, ask and I'll be honest about whether I'm the right person.
Can you start mid-year?
Yes. Many parents get in touch after a disappointing report or test result. The only limit is how many places I have.
What does a package include?
Eight one-to-one lessons of 60 minutes, usually two a week, used within six weeks. Practice in between, a short written update after each lesson, and a progress report at the end.
Do you guarantee results?
No. Nobody honest can guarantee a grade, a test score or a school place. What I promise is careful teaching, accurate records and straight answers, including when progress has been slow.
Terms
Is there a minimum commitment?
Only the package you've paid for. There's no contract beyond it. To stop, don't book the next one.
What if my child misses a lesson?
With at least 24 hours' notice it's rearranged at no charge. With less notice it counts as used, but I'll waive that once a term for illness or an emergency.
What if you cancel?
I make the lesson up within 30 days, or refund it. You choose.
What about Ramadan, Eid and holidays?
Your choice. Packages can pause so no lessons are lost, or we carry on online or after iftar. We plan around them at the start.
Do you work with children with ADHD or dyslexia?
Yes, I have taught children with both. Tell me in your first message if your child has a diagnosis or a learning plan, and I'll ask a little more on the call so lessons fit how they learn.
Do you teach children at Saudi national schools?
Yes. If your child is at a national school and needs stronger English, or support with maths and science in English, I can help.
How do we pay?
By bank transfer, STC Pay or Apple Pay. I provide invoices, including for employer or company reimbursement.
What if we leave Riyadh?
Unused lessons in your package are refunded. If you'd like to carry on online, we can. Either way I'll write a short handover summary for the next school or tutor, free.
Is the audit refundable?
Cancel before the first session for a full refund. Between the first and second session, half is refunded. After that the report is being written, and it comes to you either way.
If the report is more than ten working days late without us agreeing a new date, you can have the fee back and still get the report.
You assess my child and then sell me lessons. Isn't that a conflict?
It's a fair question. The first lesson and the audit are priced separately and stand on their own. If I don't think your child needs ongoing lessons, I'll say so.
What happens to my child's information?
Only what the work needs is kept. It's never sold or passed on, and it's deleted on request. Full details are in the privacy policy.
Who do I complain to?
Email hello@riyadhtutoring.com. You'll get a written acknowledgement within two working days and a full reply within ten.
Ask me directly.
If the honest answer is one you won't like, you'll still get it.
